This document is intended for developers who want to integrate the JayCut API into their websites. It assumes you are familiar with the basic concepts of APIs, XML, HTTP request methods, and the REST style of software architecture.

First time working with an API?

An application programming interface (API) is an interface which enables your website to interact with our system. It works simular to the way the user interface on computers facilitates interaction between humans and computers. To learn more about our API please see documentation above which includes specifications for routines, data structures, object classes, and protocols used to communicate between your site and our system

Exposed functionality includes:

Embedding the editing tool on your site
Authorization of users
Upload of media, tied to users
Management of preset content
Streaming of video
Export of edited videos, out of the JayCut system
